Italian offshore services firm Saipem has been awarded several new contracts led by semi-submersible rig Scarabeo 8, worth a total of $190m.
Initially the rig will be used to drill a well with Norske Shell and then goes on contract to Total E&P Norge for another well. The rig will then go on contract with Aker BP for the drilling of 4 wells with options for further 2 wells.
Saipem has also been awarded a decommissioning project by ConocoPhillips located in the UK sector of the North Sea.
